10.20.18 Brittany & Kevin | Golden Valley Country Club Wedding at Taste of India Rehearsal Dinner
Brittany and Kevin's Golden Valley Country Club fall wedding started at St. Gabriel the Archangel, a church in Hopkins, MN. It was chilly and windy, but that didn't stop these two from a beautiful outdoor first sight, bride and groom portraits, and family and wedding party groups.
Between my second photographer, assistant, and me, we streamlined a system to keep people warm inside but running out when it was time for their portraits, and having cups of hot beverages for the couple. Another testament to the "Over-prepare, and then go with the flow" motto - having a shot list set and ready and typed out helps with the streamlining.
The "formal" portrait portion of the wedding day doesn't take long, but it can feel longer when you're shivering - and Brittany handled it like a champ! We still did indoor portraits at the altar, but the outdoor ones - with that beautiful natural light - are always my favorite! And no matter the weather, I will opt for going outside 99 times out of 100. At least briefly. :)
The rest of Brittany and Kevin's day was lovely - they're so sweet together and really looked like they were enjoying each part of the day - being together, surrounded by their people, which enjoying each other's company. Can't ask for much more than that! Congrats you two!
Rehearsal Dinner Coverage
Brittany & Kevin's rehearsal dinner the night before included traditional Indian attire and amazing-smelling food (yum!). I grabbed some portraits of the couple before they joined family inside Taste of India in St. Louis Park. Then we did some family portraits and of course lots of candids. The rehearsal dinner is a fun option for additional coverage. Brittany didn't want to let this opportunity to highlight her Indian heritage, culture, and influence in her family and upbringing go by. (It's also a nice added bonus to meet all the family members and wedding party crew the night before the wedding so I have a better understanding of who's who on the wedding day.)
